Cold As Ice

There are storms brewing in the northern Caribbean, one of which is a category 4
hurricane on a collision course toward the privately owned island of the Diamond
of the Caribbean resort as well as the nearby island of Santa Bela. After the recent
threats to his friends and employees at the resort as well as their guests, and the
fact three women on the island are all pregnant, owner Paul MacKenzie, known as
Mac, decides to open a medical clinic at the resort. He lures away a brilliant and
beautiful doctor from the hospital on Santa Bela, as well as a nurse assistant, Anna
Vazquez, recommended by Dr. Malina Badillo. Malina has already captured the
attention of security guard Steve Elder whom she treated for a gunshot wound.
Now, Anna is resisting her attraction to Steve’s cohort in security, Bob Ulrich,
because… well it’s complicated.

After the hurricane, a body is discovered on the reef on the leeward side of the
island off the western shore. Everyone believes the fatality was someone caught
out in the storm. The face of the victim is unrecognizable because of all the
damage from impact with the coral reef during the storm. But one person realizes
who it is because of a birthmark on the back of the victim’s neck. It turns out to be
a man previously involved with two women who work at the resort. The damage to
the back of the victim’s head turns out to be the cause of death… blunt force
trauma inflicted by a baseball bat.

The victim was murdered and three of the people who retrieved his body from the reef are possible suspects, as well as the person who identified him. All four are wondering who the murderer is, but it doesn’t really matter to any of them because they all wished the man dead… and made no secret of it. Evidence starts to mount against security guard Steve who swears he is innocent and claims he is being framed. Will they be able to figure out who the killer is, and clear Steve before the Santa Bela authorities arrest him for murder? Malina vows to stand by him and Anna and Bob promise to help Ike and Mac figure out who is framing Steve…
